Clementine Sparkling Water Pie
What??? A water pie!?! Yes, you read that right. It’s probably one of the strangest recipes we’ve ever tried—and definitely one that everyone at the office wanted to taste! The result? A light, unusual sugar pie that won over many of us!
We’re always excited to collaborate with the Trois fois par jour team to bring you original recipes.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 60 min
Chill time: at least 1 hour in the refrigerator
Freezing: Freezer-friendly
Storage: 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator
Ingredients:
- 1 deep 9-inch pie crust, homemade or store-bought
- 1 can of Montellier Clementine Sparkling Water
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 tbsp butter, cut into pieces
- 2 tsp clementine zest
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the pie crust on a baking sheet and pour the sparkling water directly into the crust.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar and flour together. Sprinkle evenly over the water without stirring.
- Drizzle the vanilla extract over the top, again without mixing.
- Place the butter pieces over the top of the pie.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then reduce the heat to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 30 minutes. Cover the crust edges if needed to prevent burning.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely in the refrigerator before sprinkling with zest and serving.
Note: The pie will still be slightly liquid when it comes out of the oven, but will firm up once fully chilled.
